By: Candace Bushnell

Synopsis taken from the site

"The Carrie Diaries is the coming-of-age story of one of the most iconic characters of our generation.
Before Sex and the City, Carrie Bradshaw was a small town girl who knew she wanted more. She’s ready for real life to start, but first she must navigate her senior year of high school. Up until now, Carrie and her friends have been inseparable. Then Sebastian Kydd comes into the picture, and a friend’s betrayal makes her question everything.
With an unforgettable cast of characters, The Carrie Diaries is the story of how a regular girl learns to think for herself, and evolves into a sharp, insightful writer. Readers will learn about her family background, how she found her writing voice, and the indelible impression her early friendships and relationships left on her. Through adventures both audacious and poignant, we’ll see what brings Carrie to her beloved New York City, where her new life begins."
 ♥
This book is Carrie prior to moving to New York for Sex & the City.
I had a bit of a hard time getting in to the book at first
but then about half way through it really picked up and captured my attention.
Even more so the very last sentence of the book left me very excited to read the next!!!

For anyone who loves Sex in the City, I absolutley recommend this book to you!

xoxo.

"The More That You Read..."

"...the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
Dr. Seuss
It is a sad sad day.
The other day I recieved an e-mail from Borders stating they are going out of business!!!
My first reactions was sweeeet good book deals.
But then when I thought about it, where I am gong to get my books?!
Target? Walmart?!
I mean sure I guess I can get books there but their selection is very limited.
I don't want to have to buy a kindle or nook.
One because I have enough forms of technology between my cellphone, laptop and ipod and two I stare at technology 75% of the day between work and home.
My little eyes need a break and my books are the way to do it.
Not to mention my 12 year old fear of Y2K...
{juuust kidding}.
I could order them on amazon, but I am kind of a intstant gratification type of gal.
So, I'm stuck.
At this moment I refuse to give into e-readers.
Libraries are just too romantic to add to the fad that may cause them to become non existent.
I have about 10 or so books to last me quite a bit of time,
and hopefully by then a Barnes & Nobles with come save me!!
However, I did take advantage of Borders Going Out Of Business Sale & picked up 5 new books {so far}

Yeah, not going to lie to you all.
I'm probably going back for more!!

Hot Hot Heat

Living in New York for pretty much all of my life
I am use to drastic temperature changes.
I am use to huge snow storms, cancelled classes, shoveling and freezing
I am use to tons of rain, flooding and rainboots
and I am use to every store being sold out of air conditioners, cold showers and sunburns.
We get a lot of everything
However, this week has been a little bit ridiculous.
I feel like I live in the South!
Here is what I mean but drastic temperature changes.

July 2011:
 January 2011
 Outrageous!!!
--------
When I was 18 I got 3rd degree sunburns at Warped Tour.
I had to be hospitalized and get steriod injections because my eyes swelled shut.
Never again.
Here is the extent of my sun burn now:
Yeppp, no idea how I missed one random dot of sunscreen and random lines that look like scratches.
And no, that is not a fake picture!!

Everybody stay safe & cool.
Drink lots of water and suncreen up!!!

Book 4 in the House of Night Series & the last book of the series that I own.
by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast
Synopsis from their site.
"Life sucks when your friends are pissed at you. Just ask Zoey Redbird – she’s become an expert on suckiness. In one week she has gone from having three boyfriends to having none, and from having a close group of friends who trusted and supported her, to being an outcast. Speaking of friends, of the two Zoey has left, one is undead and one is unMarked. And Neferet has declared war on humans, which Zoey knows in her heart is wrong. But will anyone listen to her? Zoey’s adventures at vampyre finishing school take a wld and dangerous turn as loyalties are tested, shocking true intentions come to light, and an ancient evil is awakened."

I actually finished this a couple weeks ago and haven't had the chance to review it.
Once again, like every other book that I have possibly ever read, I really liked this.
These are one of the easiest books I have ever read.
This time I actually laid out next too a pool and finished in within a couple of hours!
Recommended to anyone who loves reading & wants an easy beach/bath read.

I am not going to lie though.
I am midly excited to be moving on to different books.
I love reading series but to me it feel like I'm stuck in one world in a series
where as if i read different books, I get to see so much more.
With that being said, I am half way through my next book to review!!
 ♥
I also picked out my two bloggers for my first two blog crush posts
that will be coming up in the new couple weeks or so.
Yep I am super excited!!

Job Hunting

Dear bloggers,
I have less than 1 month until I officially finish with graduate school,
and I'm not going to lie. I'm scared.
I have applied to about 10 jobs so far and I have no idea what I'm doing.
Do I just send in my cover letter & resume with the application online and let it be?
Do I call and check up on the application.
How many jobs do you think are reasonable to apply for?
I am so new and inexperienced at this that I am super confused.
So I am reaching out to ask for your advice and tips.
Help me learn to be a better job applicant!!!
xoxo.

An Apple A Day

So I woke up yesterday feeling extremely under the weather.
Especially considering it was beautiful out
feeling sick was ridiculously horrible.
So after buying a pack of cough drops
I had to work all day long, when it was gorgeous out and feeling sick.
Basically I od'ed on cough drops.
I guess I need to start eating more apples.
Thankfully today I am feeling a tad better.

However, I could go for a bath in this right now
How fun is that!!
A completely see through bathtub!!
I love it!!!
Happy Monday Everyone!!
xoxo.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

While the wedding save the dates are on order, I am linking up for
What I'm Loving Wednesdays with Little Daisy May!!

I'm Loving: that I only have about 1 month of working doubles and having two full time jobs!! While I finish my internship, I am very nervous that I now have to start applying for careers of interest in this not so prosperous economy, I am much more excited to actually have some free time to spend with my friends and my amazing fiance and family!

I'm Loving that the weather has been so beautiful and sunny lately with some nice rain during the middle of the night. The sun makes me feel so much better even when I have to work 14 hour days!!

I'm Loving the wesbsite Polyvore. Have you ever used it? I recently just came across is and I absolutley love it!! Great website to put together outfits of the day etc.
My work outfit of the day.

I'm Loving twitter!! Slowly but surely I am getting some lovely friends on twitter and it is just much fun!!

I'm Loving that our extra room will be done tonight. Just need to do something heavy moving to get the furniture back in the room and we are good!

I'm Loving that I am doing so well on my "diet". It not really a diet. I am just eating really healthy until the wedding.
So far, no soda since April 25th and No Sweets since July 5th!!
#skinnies
Lastly, I'm Loving: all my bloggy friends!! ♥

Fruit Salsa & Sunsets

So with my ridiculously hectic schedule,
I do not get many chances to cook fun things
{luckily my fiance is an amazing cook}
However, I set some time aside this week to make some delicious fruit salsa.
 Ingredients:
Frozen Mixed Berries
Canned Crushed Pineapple
Canned Peaches
Strawberry Jam
Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips

Quickly slice frozen berries into very small pieces.

Continue to cut peaches and apples into small pieces.
Add all chopped fruit and drained crushed pineapple to a container.
Add a tablespoon of jam and stir.
Enjoy with delicious cinnamon sugar pita chips!!
Literally beyond delicious!!
After this delicious meal we headed to families house to enjoy the amazing evening.
This recipe was such a hit!!
Healthy and delicious!!
How amazing is this sunset?

Wedding Wednesday # 15

If you follow me on twitter {which you totally should}
you would know that fiance & I ordered are sample save the dates this week,
I say sample because we ordered one of the two that we really liked
so we could see them in person before we ordered all 100 of them!!
Keep in  mind they are magnets!!
Please take note that I obviously edited them for blogger!
So what do you all think!?
Basically I am in love with both and can not wait to get them in the mail!!
We also got our sample invitations in the mail yesterday!!
I however, am not going to post
those until they are actually don't!!
But they are absolutley gorgeous, and we are so happy with theme!!
Things are coming along so perfectly!!
One question however,
Originally, I did not want my bridemaids to have dates come to my wedding
For various reasons such as, I want them there for me for the day, I don't know their dates, and we are already trying to cut our guest list by 15 people.
However, now my bridemaids are kind of being.. well... frustrating and well telling me they want to bring dates.
Now I am being very laid back about my whole wedding.
I am basically letting them have their choice in the dress, shoes, etc, but, this was one thing I was kind of hoping for.

Now they are even offering to pay for their dates.
Which is rude for me to ask, but I'm already trying to cut down some of our family let alone random dates.
So I don't know.
What do you think!?
xoxo
