Recipe and Not So Good Quality OOTD

So after a lovely tip
from Danielle @ Antiqued Treasures
I learned that my font may be too small for some computers, so I hopes this helps at least a little.
Today was quite a cold day, so boyfriend & I decided to go out for a little casual lunch and a movie.
I do apologize for the quality of the picture and the flash, for some reason I could not get my phone to work without the flash on or it came out very blurry.
Blackberries are sometimes a pain & you have to pull the battery to get them to work & it seems to be working fine now, but this is all I could capture.
However, I have on:
Tan Tank: Forever21
Light Tan & White Racer Back Zebra Tank: Miley Cyrus at Walmart. [This tank was 1$- I could NOT pass it up]
& Not featured very well because of my phone issues, Tan Linen Pants: Old Navy

I am very excited about how toned my arms looks in this picture which is exciting because I have been doing 20 push ups after every run that I have been going on & it appears to be working!!
Tonight's Meal:
Tonight's delicious meal was:
diced sweet potatoes sauteed in a little bit of margarine
paired with strawberries & blueberries
with a light sprinkle of sugar on top.
Very simple to make and amazing. I am a huge sweet potato lover so this was perfect!!

Movie:
Bf & I went to see the Sorcerer's Apprentice today because bf is a bit of a dork & into things like this & I have to say it wasn't bad. A bit dorky, but some of the parts really made me laugh.
Tomorrow:
I am somehow going to fit in an 8 mile run! I have a big deadline for work on Monday so I am pushed for time & really am hoping that I don't have to push back my run, but work comes first!!
Also tomorrow I am babysitting not only a 3 year old, but a 2 month old as well for about 5 to 6 hours, which I am sure some of you can empathize with me is exhausting!!
I also will be baking & photographing my journey in making tie dye cupcakes tomorrow!!

Wish me luck♥
xoxo!

Recipes.

Living on your own is fabulous,
I love being able to essentially do whatever I please, whether that be not make my bed or frolic around in a towel, the freedom feel amazing.

So because I have relied so much on camp food and dining hall food from campus, i decided to purchase a cookbook when I moved into my own apartment.
I needed something cheap & easy as I am really not the most experienced cook.
After looking at several stores I came across this book in Boarders for only 4.99.
Seemed simple enough for me so i bought it!

So after settling into the new place I created my very first meal last night.
Watermelon & Feta Salad
This was a delicious simple recipe that involved no cooking.
Ingredients:
Watermelon
Feta Cheese
Mixed Nuts: Including sunflower seeks, almonds, cashews, pepitas & raisins
Also not shown here but are in my bfs plate are black olives.
This meal was so good and very filling. A great summer dish!!

Also, a little routine bloodwork that I had to get done this morning & 12 hours of fasting, I made a delicious healthy breakfast.
Ingredients:
Vanilla Yogurt
Strawberries
Blueberries.
It was absolutley perfect =]

More meals to come as soon as I make them!!

Almost done!!

As I am sure most of you have experienced,
moving is a pain in the butt!!
But, I am almost finished!!!
I have a few more boxes to unpack.
One more set of curtains to put up.
And a few more dishes to was and put away,
and then I will be all moved in!!!
It went pretty fast too!!
I will post pictures once everything is completed!!

Other than that things have been pretty slow.
I picked up a new cook book & will be posting delicious recipes that I make out of there shortly.
I also have to babysit on Saturday
& a 50th Birthday party to attend to on Sunday.
[I will be making Tie Dye Cupcakes for this & will post pictures]
Then I leave for Maine on Monday!!
Lots to do!!
Finally, later this evening I will be going for a 5 miles run.
Making a delicious dinner
& then settling in to get a lot of work done tonight!!
I have to fast for 12 hours because I have to get some blood work done tomorrow, but nothing too intense!!

Goodbye Dinner Look, New Buys & a Book Review

It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
As previously mentioned, today was my camp staffs good bye dinner.
This is a really nice get together with fancy food, dressing up and a lot of laughs & tears!!
Here was my outfit:
  Dress: American Apparel
Shoes: Target
 New Buys:
Today I stopped by the mall to get a new strapless bra for my dress.
I purchased the VS Plunge Multi-Way & the VS. Multiway
Wow, I have never had a strapless bra better than these two. They are super comfortabld & so flattering.
I also picked up a pair of sandals from NY&C. I could only find this picture but I purchased them in brown white & teal.
 Book Review.
I finished reading Second Helps by Megan McCafferty.
This is a really cute book & the sequel to Sloppy Firsts.
It is one of those mindless books where you don't have to put too much thought into it but a cute read nonetheless.
I am actually going to be going to the library to pick of the 3rd book in this series tomorrow.
There are five all together.
I would def. recommend this series. Especially to someone looking for an easy beach read!!
 Tomorrow,
Moving back to the apartment, running 3 miles, & doing some redecorating shopping!!!
xoxo.

Summation, Shopping & Some Running

So today is it...
the last day of camp that is.
At 5pm all the kiddies will be gone & we will just have clean up, an ending meeting and then a good bye dinner tomorrow & we all take off on our separate ways.
Although sad, getting back to the real world is exciting.
To celebrate the fact that camp is ending & I will be able to see friends & bf on a regular basis, I had a little shopping splurge.
Here are some of the goodies I purchased:
The first three are from Hollister & the last white shirt is from Abercrombie.
I typically do not shop there but got all of these for a mere $100.
Not Bad!
Boyfriend, also knowing how much I wanted the shoes I talked about in my last post, has surprised me by ordering them for me & I can not wait to get them!!
 Lastly,
I am on a running roll!! This week alone I ran 17 miles & am looking forward to running about the same next week.
I have noticed such a change in my body & I love it.
For those of you who do not know, I am not running to lose weight by any means and am happy with my body.
I am traning for a 1/2 marathon to push myself into doing something that I am uncomfortable and scared of.
However, I have noticed from running that my clothes fit better, my love handles are much smaller and my stomach is much flatter and I love it!!!

Frustration... but its almost over and a book review

So we are down to the last few days....
at camp that is, & although realistically this may be my last year, I can not wait to be done.
I am excited to get back to my apartment, and to start working regular hours again!!!
Don't get me wrong, I love the kiddies and camp, but I am exhausted and ready for some serious me time & more than just a day or two.
So my frustration stems from my supervisor not letting me go for a 1 mile run today for basically no reason at all.
So I was deprived of my run and hence I am frustrated.

So instead I have been looking at shoes and fell in love with these:
What do ya think?
Book Review:
So I recently finished The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom.
 This was a great book!!
This really got me thinking about how my life truly affects those around me and how I am affected by other pepole as well. I read this book very quick and highly recommend it to others!!

I am not reading: Second Helpings by Megan McCafferty.

I am still deciding on a new running shoe to buy.
See my last post for the picture & I would love any input!!
xoxo.

Blog Lift, Running Update and New Books

I can sometimes be very indecisive..
& therefore can never decide what blog look I like the best.

I have decided to go with a simple yet beautiful look, with a wider layout.
What do you think?
Running Update:
After a nice 4.15 mile run yesterday, I am sticking to my 1/2 marathon training schedule quite strictly.
Today I went for another 4 mile run and was surprised to see that I ran at a quicker pace.
I did however, end up with a nasty blister on my big toe and am hoping that this will not get in the way of my 3 mile run tomorrow.
Does anyone have any remedies or idea on how to stop my blisters.
My shoes still have less than 300 miles on them and fit well, so I do not believe that it is my shoes.
But I will be getting new shoes after my race and am looking very forward to that!!
I am debating between new Nike Shox or the New Nike Free Runs
What do you think!?

Lastly,
I picked up two new books from the library today. The Five People You Meet In Heave by Mitch Albom and Second Helpings by Megan McCafferty.
I am looking forward to both of these books and will provide reviews as soon as I am finished!!
xoxo.

Runners update.

So as most of you already know,
however, some of you may not, I am training for a 1/2 marathon!!
Well after some deliberation, I have decided to go for another 1/2 marathon in September instead of October!!
This means that I need to get into some serious training.
So with about 11 weeks left until the race here is my updated routine:
As mentioned in my last post, I have been kind of slacking, but will be kicking it back up tomorrow with a 4 mile run. I might hop a week a head or schedule because I am already in fairly good shape and would like to run about 10 before the race but we will see how I feel.
Tomorrow
4 miles. I will probably run a 5k to see if I can beat my personal record and just continue on to 4 but we'll see!!

Also,
has anyone seen the movie Inception yet with Leo & Ellen Page?
I heard it was incrediable and am looking forward to see it this weekend!!

Room decoration suggestions:
I am open to any room decoration suggestions, I like things fairly simple and that play into my black white and a hint of plum theme. If you know anything good for a room, from furniture to mirrors please lemme know!!
xoxo.

Book Review & Runners Slump.

Book Review:
So I recently finished reading I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell By: Tucker Max.
So for a little blurb off of TuckerMax.com & the back of his book, check out the linked website.

So, I would imagine a lot of women would be seriously disturbed by this book, and would find Tucker Max horrible offensive, crude and even disgusting, and by all means I agree totally. However, this is how some men in reality think and for some reason kept me dragged into the entire book the entire time!!
Do I recommend it?
Well yes, because I recommend every book because I love all literature.
However, I forewarn those who are easily offended by references to sex, alcohol or objectifying women.

On some other terms, I have hit a runners slump. I haven't run like I usually have in well over a month. Granted I am running once or twice a week but for short distances and without my usual enthusiasm.
So bloggy friends.
I am writing to ask for a little bit of encouragement
I intend on going to sleep fairly early and waking up at 5am to go for a nice 3mile run and then going for another run at 1pm and am hoping to make a 5 mile run!!
8 miles in one dayyy!!!!
Omygooodness, but I need something to get me out of my runners slump!!!
So i am going on runners overload and taking one for the team!!!!

xoxo.

Edit:
It was raining at 5am.
However, now 1pm and I am heading off for a nice run. I am not sure how far I will be going but at least 3 miles but no longer than 1 hour!

Just one more week =[

Its hard to believe,
but in just one week the camp that I work at will be completley finished.

The end of camp is always really sad, and I am not sure if this is my last summer working here or if I will be spending one more summer here next year.
I suppose it all depends on my internship.
Well I am excited to move back to my apartment.
I have decided to redecorate once I get back because I haven't been back to it in like over 2 months!!!
I have been looking at a lot of black and white rooms and and think that, that will be the theme I will be going to, also with a hint of plum!

However, on my afternoon off I will be spending the day outside laying in the sun=]

The downside to my job.

Let me start off my saying,
I love my summer job!!

However, similarly to probably everyone elses job there is a downside to mine..
This downside to my job kept me up until 3am dealing with some fabulous paperwork, phonecalls and crying campers.
  Yep that is correct.
The lovely issue of underage drinking...

Needless to say, I am working offf of no sleep today.

However, I did recently finish Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the Battle of the Labyrinth.
This is the 4th Percy Jackson book I read & honestly I keep liking them more and more.
I read this book in 3 days and can not wait to go on to the 5th and final one!!!
I highly suggest reading this series.

I am currently reading, I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell by Tucker Max.
This book is crude, rude and ridiculous, but I can't help but being pulled into the sadistic world of Tucker Max & sadly, I am sure it is the way that many boys my age act.

One of My Favorite Summer Things:

One of my favorite summer things is:
 Summer Thunderstorms!

Something about a quick summer thunderstorm to cool of the very hot air that just calms me down!!!
I finished reading One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.
This was a good book, but slightly hard to get threw. I found some parts a little dry and the narrator of the book spoke in an uneducated form of English that was at times difficult to follow. However, this really gave me an idea of what mental institutions were like and some parts were veryyy entertaining.
I would def. recommend this book to anyone interested in the psychology or mental health fields!!
I took a short running hiatus.
Due to the intense heat. I find myself getting very little from running in the hot heat but will be running 2 or 3 miles tonight or tomorrow, or both depending on the rain!!

Sorry for the lack of subject matter for blogging, work has been intense!!
xoxo!

My Current Life

My life is currently consumed by:
Campers
Mini Golf
Tanning at the Beach
Movie Dates
Saw Toy Story 3 with bf.
So good.
Happy but sad, but I loved it & a childhood classic!

Reading
Still reading One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.
Not sure when I will be finished, but perhaps sometime next week.
I will then be moving on to the 4th Percy Jackson book!

 Cliff Jumping

It was a good week of having some breaks between working.
However, for the next 2 weeks, it will pretty much be back to the grind.
Working pretty much full time!!

4 of July Recap!!

I hope everyone had a very safe  & fun 4th of July!!!
After working my butt off in the raging heat all morning.
Woo, 4th of July Carnival at Camp!!
That was a tough but fun one!

I spent my night doing something just as exhausting.
Bf, was busy with his family, & all though I would have loved to spend it with him, sometime a girl need the company of another man!!
The other man for me is:

An adorable & very sleepy 7 week old that I babysit!!
Hes quite handsome I know!!
I had a very fun exhausting night & def. give parents a ton of credit, bc man I don't know how they do it!!

I have been reading One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, but this one is taking me a little long to finish then my other books.
I am on lake duty all day, so I will be able to get some reading done when the kids take break from the water and play on the beach or when no kids are in the water at all!!

Its going to be a scorcher out there so everyone make sure you have your SPF & have fun!!
xoxo!

One Love, One Love

Have you heard the new Enrique Song?
I am a little obsessed with it.
A little random, but true nonetheless.

Soo, the weather in New York is currently fabulous & I am doing everything I can to stay outside.
We get some mornings, afternoons and evenings off at camp to do our own personal things & today bf & I took a little trip down to the city to go shopping!!!
I stopped off at MAC & got some new make up I had been needing.

I picked up an Eye Liner: Eye Kohl in Costa Richie & A Mascara X in Dark Brown.
I also got a new long sleeved running shirt anticipating that it might be a little chilly for my half marathon in October!

Last night,
bf and I were able to go see Eclipse!
& wow, first of all I am proud to say I am a Twi-hard, but I have been one long before the books became popular and the movies were even a thought in someones mind.
But I am not going to lie. Taylor Lautner, is one beauuutiful barely of age boy!!

!!!!!!!

Yesterday,
I also finished the Perks of Being A Wallflower.
This book was a very easy read. It is a bunch of letters written by a boy named Charlie about what he is going through in his life. The books is sad, serious, funny, happy and overall a great book.
I know a lot of people read this in high school, but I was not fortunate enough to have read it then & highly suggest this book to everyone!!
I am now on to reading One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.

Running is going very well & I am picking up some speed.
I am actually off for a run right now and hope to get at least two miles in however, it is quite hot and will see how the run goes. I would have gone earlier in the morning but I was too busy with work!!

xoxo.
