Third Trimester: 28 Week Bump Update!

Happy Thursday & Happy Third Trimester!!
Yay!! We made it to the last trimester!
Such an excitement and such a relief.

Weight gain: 14 lbs :( Lost 2 lbs this week out of no where. Naturally it freaks me out & I will be talking to the doctor about it. Could be less water caused by having less sodium!
Baby Stats: We finally hit our 3rd trimester!! I am so happy to be here. Babes chance of survival, god forbid something were to happen is more than 95%. Baby boy is almost 3lbs (based off the application) is 17 inches and the size of a small cabbage.
Blood Pressure: So much better. 130, 120 and 110 this week :)
Food aversions: None
Morning sickness: None
Appetite : Back to normal and wanting to eat everything!!
Cravings: Mostly salty with my love of cereal and cookies. None of which I can really eat!! (See Below)
Clothes: All my pants still fit, but need the belly band. Loving jeggings, leggings and yoga pants!! I can wear most of my non maternity shirts minus a few very fitted ones.  Wearing some maternity pants (3 pairs) and a few maternity shirts.
Headaches: Nothing too bad this week.
Sleeping: Sleep is back to normal, less waking up in the middle of the night having to pee!
Stretchmarks: None yet!
Bellybutton: Outtie and visible through the shirt!!
   Wedding Rings: On
Backaches: Very occasional.
Heart Burn: A little here and there, but doesn't last long, hiccups are the worst!
Energy and Motivation: Normal
Emotions: Mostly Happy, but I notice I cry MUCH easier.
Movements: All the time :) They continue to get stronger, but they are more blunt, most likely because he is much bigger and running out of room to really take a swing.
GenderBoy!
Name: As we announced on Tuesday, baby boy will be names Greyson

Update: Glucose Test Results: FAILLLLLED!! Ugh I am not officially a Gestational Diabetic. I cried for a good hour.
Will be beginning a child birthing class every monday for the next 12 weeks!!
Next appointment:
Tomorrow, 3/1 for an OB & meeting with a nutritionist to discuss how I should be eating with diabetes :(

My Registry Must Haves

About two weeks ago, hubs and I headed the 4 hours home to register for our baby gifts.
We don't have too many stores where we live & I really wanted to get to some stores like babies-r-us and buy buy baby.
We personally registered at babies-r-us & target, but we bought all of our nursery furniture at buy buy baby!
Our nursery showing will be tomorrow so come back and check out how amazing it is!!
I am in love!
I had done a lot of research into things that I had wanted prior to registering and these were a few that I NEEDED to get.

1.  Angelcare Movement Sensor with Sound Monitor:
"The Angelcare Movement and Sound Monitor combines a quality sound and movement baby monitor in the same system. Whether your baby is awake or asleep, the under-the-mattress sensor pad will detect all of your child's movements. An alarm sounds after 20 seconds if no movement is detected, and an optional 'tic' sound keeps you aware of the baby's movement. Two channels minimize interference, and the AC-powered monitor automatically converts to battery power in case of a power failure. The monitor lights up with your child's sound level and also has a low battery indicator. Let the monitor system do its work to grant you the rest you need."

I am a person who tends to worry. So when thinking about my sweet baby boy, I get nervous thinking anything would ever happen to him. So after a few recommendations from some amazing bloggers I decided to register for the Angel Care monitor. A little over protection is a lot better than the alternative.

2. Snuza - Hero Basic Baby Movement Monitor:
"Yes, it is good to know when your baby is awake, moving & wants your attention, but isn't it even more important to know when they are completely still? This is where Snuza can help. Snuza monitors your baby's movements. If there is no movement sensed for 15 seconds, Snuza will gently vibrate to stimulate your baby. If no further movement is sensed within 5 seconds, an alarm will alert you to act. Snuza Hero is a small, light Baby Movement Monitor that can be used anywhere your baby sleeps. Traditional Movement Monitors that utilize pads are useful if you only have one child who only sleeps in their crib, but if you have multiples, or your baby sleeps somewhere other than a crib, such as a Moses Basket or Pram, then these monitors may not be suitable. Because Snuza Hero clips over the waistband of baby's diaper, it doesn't matter where they sleep. Perfect for at home, when travelling or when visiting friends and family. Your Snuza Hero Monitor comes with a molded, plastic travel case, and includes an instruction manual in five languages You can be assured that Snuza Hero is safe. There are no wires or cords that could potentially harm baby; your Snuza is made with hypo-allergenic, medical grade plastics; and importantly, does not send or receive radiofrequency signals. "

I know what you are thinking... TWO movement monitors?! Yes two. One is under the mattress where this one sits gently on the baby and even slightly vibrates the baby if no movement is felt.

 3. Vulli Sophie The Giraffe Teether:
"Vulli's Sophie the Giraffe has been amusing babies for 50 years. Made of 100% natural rubber and food paint, the BPA- and phthalate-free Sophie is soothing and safe for your teething baby. Sophie’s unique design, pattern and texture stimulate all of your baby’s senses during playtime. She makes a happy sound when squeezed, stimulating hearing and helping your baby understand the link between cause and effect."

I have a ton of friends who have bought this for their babies and loved it. Its adorable and perfect for tiny little hands and teething gums!

 4. Motorola Digital Baby Monitor Video:
Rest easy while Baby sleeps with this digital video baby monitor from Motorola. It features a 2.8-inch color LCD screen, infrared night vision and sound indicator lights. This baby monitor has a range of 600 feet and includes an out-of-range indicator."

We had new we wanted a video baby monitor when we were heading out to register & after looking at quite a few online we settled with the motorola. It sleek looking & had really good reviews of quality and use. Also the fact that it has night vision is comforting to know so we can see the babe sleeping safely.

 5. Graco Sweet Slumber Sound Machine:
"Lull your little one into a peaceful sleep with this Graco Baby Sweet Slumber Sound Machine. The 12 high-quality soothing sounds, including lullabies, nature sounds and white noise, help your baby fall asleep and stay asleep. You can even use the MP3 plug-in port to attach an MP3 player and soothe your baby with your favorite songs. Set the automatic timer to shut the Sweet Slumber off after your little one has fallen asleep, and check in without disturbing him or her thanks to the soft-glow night-light. The easy-to-use controls let you get started right away, and the machine's compact size and optional battery operation make it great for travel."

As some of you momma's know, a sound machine can be quite useful. Babies need some soothing music to fall asleep at times & if things are TOO quiet they can often get use to that, and then not be able to fall asleep if there is noise. This Graco machine has lots of options, a plug in for our iPods & a small little nightlight which we loved!!

6. Graco Pack 'N Play with Cuddle Cove Rocking Seat Play Yard:
"This Graco Pack n Play Playard with Cuddle Cove Rocking Seat is designed to grow with your little one from newborn to infant to toddler. The Cuddle Cove rocking seat is removable with carrying handles for convenient mobility. Machine-washable, luxuriously styled, soft fabrics offer comfort, while the canopy shields your baby from bright light. The changing table with a cushioned, quilted rim provides a comfortable and convenient place for diapering, and the adjacent organizer stores baby essentials, such as diapers and wipes, close at hand. The electronics module plays five classical songs and five soothing nature sounds and features a look light that lets you keep an eye on your baby. The module also controls vibration for the bassinet and seat to help calm your baby. The handy wheels offer simple mobility, while the convenient carrying bag offers no-fuss travel and storage."

We knew we wanted a pack & play with the option of using it as our bassinet when the baby is first here. We don't plan on having out baby sleep in our room for too long, we prefer to put him in the crib after a couple of months so it seemed like a waste to get a bassinet. This worked perfectly. This way we have a changer, a bassinet and the moveable pack and play for trips to grandma and grampys.

7. Chicco Cortina Travel System Stroller:

"The Chicco Cortina Travel System Stroller in Azura features the #1 Rated Infant Car Seat - Greater than 22lb capacity infant seats! Stay Safer Longer with the KeyFit 30 infant car seat accomodating infants from 4 to 30 lbs. The car seat harness has one-pull tightening & loosening for quick harness fitting.  The thickly-padded infant insert gives extra support for a smaller baby around the head, neck, back & bottom.  The carrier shell is lined with energy absorbing foam. It features an innovative LATCH management system, easy belt routing and a spring-loaded leveling foot to make the infant car seat installation easy. The "one-pull", centrally located tightening strap has made securing the LATCH attachment simple.  The KeyFit base also has wide belt routing loops with a built in belt locking system for vehicles without LATCH.  Leveling the base is easy with a spring-loaded leveling foot and easy to read liquid, bubble level guides on both sides of the base.  The enclosed underside of base protects vehicle seats from damage. Conforms to "NEW" FMVSS 213. Usage: from 4-30lbs, newborn insert from 4-11lbs.

The aluminum frame Cortina stroller with one-hand fold comes loaded with extra features you and baby will enjoy. Mutliple position, fully-reclining seat and adjustable leg support provides comfort for your baby. The seat has "memory" recline for your convenience - it remembers the position you last left it in before folding. The adjustable, removable canopy is water repellent. Large basket accessible when the backrest is fully reclined providing plenty of storage for all the things your baby needs. Linked rear brakes and a 5-pt harness provide safety and all-wheel suspension gives just the right ride to baby. A height-adjustable handle make strolling comfortable for Mom or Dad. Usage: from birth to 50lbs. "

We spent the most time looking at strollers while registering for gifts. We wanted something aesthetically pleasing, comfortable and super safe. We finally saw this stroller and decided it is the one!! It works for babies and toddlers from 4- 50lbs, so we can use it for a long time & its a great color and really soft!

8. Itzy Ritzy Shopping Cart & High Chair Cover:

"Keep your little one clean and comfortable with this shopping cart cover from Itzy Ritzy. Perfect for twins, this padded cover is made from a reversible animal print fabric. Two toy loops and pockets keep toys and teethers from dropping to the ground. This versatile cover can also be used as a high chair cover."
9. Comfort & Harmony Shopping Cart Cover:
"The Kids II Bright Starts Comfort & Harmony Cozy Cart Cover offers supreme comfort for your little one while safeguarding against germs. The cover provides 360-degree germ protection, and generously sized plush fabrics offer full coverage of shopping carts and restaurant high chairs. Three storage pockets are conveniently located on the back of the cover, so you will always have your baby essentials on hand. A clip in the front offers stability once it is in the high chair or shopping cart, so you won’t have to worry about your little one’s safety once he or she is sitting in the seat. This stylish cart cover is sure to provide ultimate comfort in any seat and protects your little one from harmful germs."

As a little bit of a germaphobe, I knew I wanted the car seat covers. I cringe when I see babies putting their mouths on the nasty shopping cart handle. UGH! Thinking about it grosses me out. We registered for two, obviously because one will be in the wash from time to time especially when using it as a highchair cover at restaurants. Both of these looked adorable and soft & just needed to keep the babes healthy!

10. Vicks Starry Night Cool Mist Humidifier:

"The Kaz Vicks Starry Night Cool Moisture Humidifier produces cool, invisible moisture while transforming the room into a starry night sky that will soothe and comfort your little one. Cool moisture ensures that your child will get a good night's sleep by being able to breathe easily during the night. A projector transforms the room into a starry night sky that will provide comfort for your child before falling asleep. The soothing vapors scent pad heater offers a comforting, non-medicated scent that is sure to soothe your little one, even when he or she is sick. Two speed settings allow you to set the speed of the humidifier to suit your child's comfort level, and the quiet operation ensures that it will not disturb his or her sleep. A run time of up to 24 hours ensures that the humidifier will work through the night, offering soothing comfort during sleep."

We needed a humidifier, in fact I wish we had this now because we would use it!! I loved the blue look to it, and the fact that you can put on the night light, and that it runs independently so you don;t have to have the night light on. I really like the ability to add the Vicks for it for when the little one gets sick & its a cool steam so no burns!

Overall, registering was so much fun!! I can not wait until its shower time so we can finally have it all!!

Cravings: Mostly salty with my love of cereal and cookies.
Clothes: All my pants still fit, but need the belly band. Loving jeggings, leggings and yoga pants!! I can wear most of my non maternity shirts minus a few very fitted ones.  Wearing some maternity pants (3 pairs) and a few maternity shirts.

Update: I sadly "failed" my 1 hour glucose test by 6 points. My doctor didn't really seemed too worried that I would fail the three hour. I am very in shape, healthy and exactly the healthy weight. I however, am horrified. I am not look forward to sitting in the hospital for 3 hours on 12 hours without food, drinking pure sugar then getting my blood taken 4 times
Plllllllleaseee send prayers my way that I pass this time!! I don't think I can handle restricting my food to low sugar, carbs and sodium!!
Next appointment:
3 hour Glucose test on 2/22...
March 1st at 28 weeks 1 day for regular appointment.

Book Club Friday

Today is Book Club Friday!
It has been a while my friends & I am happy to be posting & linking up!!

To link up, all you have to do is grab the button (above) and link up here!

You can write about any book you want.

This week's review will be on:

Back of the Book:
"The world is changing: the government has seized control of every aspect of society, and now, kids are disappearing. For 15-year-old Wisty and her older brother Whit, life turns upside down when they are torn from their parents one night and slammed into a secret prison for no reason they can comprehend. The New Order, as it is known, is clearly trying to suppress Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Being a Normal Teenager. But while trapped in this totalitarian nightmare, Wisty and Whit discover they have incredible powers they'd never dreamed of. Can this newly minted witch and wizard master their skills in time to save themselves, their parents--and maybe the world?"

Review:
This was a very easy read. I had been hearing really good things about it and wanted to read it for sometime!! Like I said its quite a simple read. Its well written, interesting and a page turner. I think it would be classified as young adult, but still entertaining." Fits into the world we are all obsessed with i.e.) the fantasy wizard, vampire, werewolf loving world. Another book that I really didn't have to think much, but not so dull that I couldn't get through it.
I would recommend.

Valentine's Bump Update: 26 Weeks

Happy Valentine's Day Love Bugs!!
& so thankful to have made it to another Thursday nice & healthy!
I hope everyone is having a great love day, regardless of their dating status!
Happy to be in the double digits!!
That is right! Less than 100 days until we meet baby boy!

Weight gain: 14.5 lbs. 2lb weight gain this week, which may have been from the early Valentine's day dinner to Hibachi! Well I guess I made up for the .5 weight gain last week
Baby Stats: Still about 2lbs, but is now over a foot long!! The size of an english hothouse cucumber, because that is such a well known vegetable analogy. Maybe is able to hear outside voices better, so daddy has been talking to him lots!!
Blood Pressure: Still a little high, typically around 140/74. Tuesdays was wonderful right at 128/74 even after I had a very stressful event occur!!
Food aversions: None
Morning sickness: None
Appetite : Back to normal and wanting to eat everything!!
Cravings: Mostly salty with my love of cereal and cookies. I have been doing really awesome at eating super healthy with lots of fruits, veggies and low sodium foods!!
Clothes: All my pants still fit, but need the belly band. Loving jeggings, leggings and yoga pants!! I can wear most of my non maternity shirts minus a few very fitted ones.  Wearing some maternity pants (3 pairs) and a few maternity shirts.
Headaches: None this week.
Sleeping: Sleep is back to normal, less waking up in the middle of the night having to pee!
Stretchmarks: None yet!
Bellybutton: Outtie and visible through the shirt!!
   Wedding Rings: On
Backaches: Very occasional, but bad one the other night. I am pretty sure his feet were digging into my middle back.
Heart Burn: A little here and there, but doesn't last long, hiccups are the worst!
Energy and Motivation: Normal
Emotions:  For the most part very level headed with occasional irritability (mostly at daddy). However, Tuesday I had a horrible day where a teacher yelled at me in school (which I work contracted out to two days a week) and I got up to my office and cried for an hour. I wasn't even upset he yelled at me because it was ridiculous and I didn't even do anything (he yelled at me for talking to one of my students in the office...) I was just overwhelmed and embarrassed and just let it all out.
Movements: All the time :) He has his patterns, & is super strong!! Feeling some right side rib pain recently which is where he likes to stick his feets!
Gender: Boy!
Name: We have one picked & will be announcing when we show off the nursery!!
(Hopefully sometime next week)
Next appointment:
Glucose Test and Blood work on 2/15.. Eeeep!
March 1st at 28 weeks 1 day
Looking Forward To: Finishing our nursery, his toy box just came in and we only have about 8 more things to hang out on the wall. Also hitting our 3rd trimester in one more week, something about knowing we are in the 3rd trimester relaxes me a lot more and excites me greatly!!

Nerdy Things!

I love my husband.
He is amazing.
One of his best (and sometimes not the best) qualities is that he is a total nerd.
Video game, html, computer game loving nerd.
Thankfully he is not obsessed with playing these games
(although he has neglected the dishes once or twice because of them), and he has lots of other very amazing qualities as well.
He is training for a marathon right now :)
However, sometimes his nerdyness just completely makes me laugh.
Outloud. Hysterically. In inappropriate places. Like at work.
Well this morning while I am getting ready for work, I see him sitting on the couch, laughing hysterically for a good 10 minutes.
So after having a bad day I head over to see what he is laughing at!!
Lol my friends.... This is what caused him to laugh so hard.

Hahah!!
How cute is that!?
I say this is what you are laughing at!?
He says, it is a video about cats, doing cat things!
Gotta love Nerdy Husbands!!

25 Weeks

Happy Thursday everyone!!
Once again my favorite day of the week!!
This past week was quite eventful on Friday morning we headed to our OB appointment.
Everything looked good with baby. He yawned in his ultrasound.
Heartbeat was 133 & is measuring two weeks a head at 26 weeks.
(Hoping this means he may make a tiny bit of an earlier appearance, May 15th anyone!?!)
My blood pressure however, was not to awesome.
I occasionally get a high read every now in then without being pregnant.
One time it was 133/90
Another 140/90
Its been normal around 120/80 about 5 times.
Last Tuesday it was 140/90, Friday was 148/76 and today was 140/74.
So its all over the place, no real consistency.
So I am worried about pre-eclampsia and or gestational hypertension.
I have cut my salt intake down significantly.
I don't really due anything stressful or intense.
Thankfully so far I have very limited swelling, and no protein in my urine.
Lets hope it stays that way!!
Then we headed home and registered for all of our baby shower gifts & bought all of our nursery furniture!!
The nursery reveal won't be up until a couple weeks when we finish everything!
We still have a few pictures to hang on the wall, the changing table and the toy box to be delivered :)

Weight gain: 12.5 lbs. I guess only a .5 weight gain which makes ZERO sense to me!
Baby Weights: 2 whole lbs, or the size of a rutabaga & is about 1 foot in height!
Food aversions: None
Morning sickness: None
Appetite : Back to normal and wanting to eat everything!!
Cravings: Sadly still all salty which I can not eat (see above), but also cereal
Clothes: Can still wear all my non Maternity Shirts, but am wearing some maternity shirts, no pants button, but can still wear them with a belly band or the hair tie trick. Pants are now getting snug, and probably will only last a few more weeks. Have a few maternity pants, mostly work clothes.
Headaches: Minor headache one day, but other than that none really.
Sleeping: Sleep is back to normal, less waking up in the middle of the night having to pee!
Stretchmarks: None yet!
Bellybutton: We have hit outtie, and can now see the belly button through the shirt!
   Wedding Rings: On
Backaches: Very occasional.
Heart Burn: A little here and there, but doesn't last long.
Energy and Motivation: Normal
Movements: All the time :) He has his patterns, & is super strong!!
GenderBoy!
Name: We have one picked & will be announcing when we show off the nursery!!
Next appointment: March 1st at 28 weeks 1 day

Looking Forward To: Finishing our nursery & hitting our 3rd trimester in two more weeks!!
