Meet My Puppy's Kitten [LONG]

As I previously mentioned in my last post,
my puppy recently got a kitten.
I know what you all are thinking..
Girl, are you crazy!!??
Lol, perhaps I am.
Some of you may not know but my cute little 5lb Yorkie, got Lyme Disease last Sepetmeber
He was sick at first, had a rash and was vomiting. My mom brought him to the vet who said he must have had an allergic reaction to something, gave him some cortisone cream and sent him on his way. Well the rash cleared up and the vomiting reduced, but he still was acting depressed and had a decrease in appetite.
Well my mom was going on vacation, so I took my pup to my apartment for a bit to watch him while she was gone.
He seemed fine when I saw him, a little depressed, but I attributed this to my mom departing.
We went on a walk that afternoon, too show off how cute he was, and every time he would go an run at a bike, a baby carriage, a skateboarder, really anything with wheels, he would throw up... I thought maybe he was choking himself so I carried him and he was fine.
We went to sleep that night and all was good.
I woke up the next morning and called him to come with me to go to the bathroom and he wouldn't get out of bed.
Attributing this to being sleepy, I picked him up and brought him outside. When I put him down I noticed he couldn't put his left back leg down. I touched his leg and he whined. Of course I was freaking out, I assumed he must have hurt it on our walk the day before.
I called my mom who said he probably pulled a muscle, and just to let him relax. So I put him in his bed, and got ready for the day, and I notice he was lying in bed not moving at all.. I though this was weird. Even if his leg hurt, he's head would still be active, looking around, barking like always.
Sick wittle puppy!

I brought him water, food, even people food to eat and nothing. At this time, I called my mom freaking out even more saying something had to be wrong. So I drove 3 hours home to my vet (not wanting to bring him somewhere he didn't know). We get to the vet, and I am in tears, but trying to hold it together. I take him into the room and they run tests on him. Take his blood, draw blood the whole nine yards. The vet stated she believed it might be Lyme disease so they took more blood to run tests.
We waited around for the 20 minutes it took to do the Lyme test and I was a wreck the whole time. The Vet comes out and says it is Lyme and that he would be find once he got antibiotics into him. I was relieved that it was something curable but still a mess because this could have been taken care of a week ago when my mom brought him to the vet.
I get home, and force the little pill into his little mouth and give him some pain meds. I was terrified so I made my brother come over, and curled up with him in his little bed and went to sleep.
I tried taking him out multiple times but he was too week and tired to move, so unfortunately I woke up in the morning to his bed being filled with piddle.
I continued to try to take him out and got him to pee stand still one time, but he hardly ate and drank anything to go anyways.
The next day I continued to give him meds and try and get him to eat anything, but had very little luck.
So finally that night I caved. He wasn't getting any better, and he was wimpering. So I called my mom on her vacation and told her she needed to come home.
She understood it was serious and said she could be home by noon the next day.
She finally gets home and I leave to head back to school with high hopes he'll get better. Well not even an hour later she calls me shes taking him back to the Vet because she doesn't think he is getting better. [cue me hysterical].
Then I finally get back to school and she calls me and says "Are you at home". Immediately I know that's not good. So she tells me that the Lyme in my poor puppy has spread to his Kidneys and is now Lyme Nephritis a disease fatal in most dogs. She said they we are gonna try intensive meds [kinda like doggy chemo], but there was only about a 25% chance he would live and I should come say goodbye.
So I drive all the way back, a mess and speeding back home to say goodbye to my puppy, praying for a miracle.
Well someone amazing was watching out for that little doggy and a miracle is what I got!
Within a few days my pup was looking better and the doctor said he moved up to an 80 percent chance of survival and within a week up to 95.
Now he is doing amazing, and all of his blood work is back to normal!! There is always a chance he could get sick again, as Lyme never goes away but I will Cherish eachhhhh and every single day I have with him.
On to why we got him a kitten:
About about a month ago, we let my pup outside and my mom was doing some yard work when she noticed a big black dog run from the woods.
She then saw this big black dog pick up my poor puppy and try to run off with him.
Luckily my mom scared the beast and he dropped my poor puppy, who was then rushed off to get stitches.
The cutie patootie is okay now, but was depressed and more afraid and lonely.
Cue Simon Says
[name thanks to my niece.]
We rescued this little guy to keep my puppy entertained when we aren't around.
The two are adorable and the best of friends!!
They are so friggen cute!!!
Soo that is my very long story of my puppies kitten.
Hope you enjoyed and everyone put their flea and tick stuff on their animals!!
xoxo.
